    Abstract

Transfer factors for 137Cs and 90Sr from herbage to cow's milk have been calculated from data acquired from a routine monitoring programme in west Cumbria during 1977 to 1985. The values for 137Cs and 90Sr, 0.004 d l-1 and 0.001 d l-1, respectively, agree reasonably well with values reported in the literature from controlled experiments.
