Abstract

Transfer factors for ¹³⁷Cs and ⁹⁰Sr from herbage to cow's milk have been calculated from data acquired from a routine monitoring programme in west Cumbria during 1977 to 1985. The values for ¹³⁷Cs and ⁹⁰Sr, 0.004 d l^-1 and 0.001 d l^-1, respectively, agree reasonably well with values reported in the literature from controlled experiments.
