Abstract
ICRP Publication 67 presents a recycling biokinetic model for systemic plutonium. In this paper, the feasibility of applying a sensitivity analysis involving partial differential sensitivity coefficients to this kind of model is investigated. Aspects of model formulation which appear to have the greatest influence on effective dose following an ingestion of 239Pu are identified, and the values of critical parameters are examined for the endpoints of effective dose and excretion rates.
