Abstract
Tissues removed at autopsy from members of the general public contain significantly higher concentrations of plutonium and 137Cs in west Bumbrians than in people from three other regions of Great Britain. Several autopsy cases from Cumbria showed unusually high values of plutonium. Subsequently it was found that the subjects had been former employees of British Nuclear Fuels.
