    Abstract

PPE should be considered as a last resort when undertaking a risk assessment. When all other options have been discarded, then PPE should be considered. Workers need to be appropriately trained in its use as well as any preuse checks. Remember, PPE only protects the wearer and if used incorrectly the protection afforded may be considerably reduced.
