Abstract

This report summarises the reports on health-related water microbiology of a number of countries. Although this is supposed to be an international report, only some 18 countries have submitted reports, all but five of which were European. There were no reports submitted from the Americas and few from African or Asian countries. These omissions are particularly notable when considering the fact that the largest burden of waterborne disease falls on the populations of these continents.
