N2 - Generalised Derived Limits (GDLs) are evaluated for the radiologically significant isotopes of the element strontium in selected materials from the terrestrial and aquatic environments and for discharge to atmosphere. GDLs are calculated using deliberately cautious assumptions concerning the habits and location of the critical group of exposed individuals in the population and, where appropriate, concerning the conditions of discharge and the prevailing meteorology. They are intended for use when the environmental contamination or discharge to atmosphere is less than about 5% of the GDL. GDL values are specified for strontium radionuclides in water, soil, grass, sediments, various foodstuffs, and for strontium radionuclides on terrestrial surfaces and for their discharge to atmosphere. -from Authors
